On December 14th, a group of 22 AZ Legislators and 8 AZ Legislators-Elect signed a joint resolution telling Congress to abstain from counting electoral votes cast in favor of Joe Biden and instead accept the alternative slate of electors whose votes were cast for President Donald Trump. The resolution was passed due to "irregularities so significant... [it's] highly doubtful whether the certified results accurately represent the will of the voters". This motion is backed by the US Constitution which, after being discussed by the Supreme Court, says that "State Legislature directs the manner of appointing electors", outweighing the power of any State Constitutional or other legal provision. This move could ultimately affect the outcome of the joint session ballot count carried out by Congress on January 6th.
